FAQ

All Things Retro Social

Retro Social is a vintage-inspired apparel brand celebrating the culture, style and nostalgia of the decades that gave us some seriously good stuff.
Classic cars. Café racers. Surf culture. Country & Western. Old-school technology. Gaming. Cinema. Americana. Music. Pin-ups. And whatever else sends us disappearing down the next nostalgic rabbit hole.
We take those influences and turn them into original graphic apparel made for today.
Pretty much everywhere.
Old magazines, garages, album sleeves, movies, roadside Americana, vintage advertising, arcades, surf shacks, workshops, record stores and the wonderfully questionable interior design choices of the 1970s have all been known to play a part.
Absolutely.
Retro Social is intended to keep evolving, with new artwork, collections and limited releases appearing regularly.
Keep an eye on the website, blog and our social channels to see what’s coming next.
Please do.
Retro Social is meant to be a community as much as a clothing brand. If there’s an era, hobby, culture or obscure piece of nostalgia you think deserves the Retro Social treatment, we’d genuinely love to hear about it.
We can’t promise every suggestion will become a shirt — otherwise things could get dangerous — but good ideas are always welcome.
Absolutely.
We want Retro Social to feel like somewhere people can swap stories, memories and opinions rather than simply somewhere that sells T-shirts. Join the conversation. Tell us what you think. Tell us what you remember.
That’s half the fun.

Our Designs & Printing

Our artwork is professionally printed using modern garment-printing techniques chosen to give us strong colour, fine detail and a comfortable finish.
The technology might be modern, but the inspiration definitely isn’t.
Definitely.
Weathering, faded inks, worn edges and distressed textures are deliberately built into many Retro Social designs to give them the character of an old favourite you might have discovered at the back of a record shop, garage or vintage store.
They’re part of the artwork, not a printing fault.
We do our best to represent every product accurately, but screens display colours differently and there can be small variations between the image you see online and the finished garment.
Garment colour and the printing process can also subtly influence the finished result.
That’s part of what makes printed apparel a little more interesting than pixels on a screen.
The inspiration is. The shirts aren’t.
Retro Social creates vintage-inspired apparel influenced by the cars, motorcycles, music, movies, technology, gaming, surf culture and general good stuff of decades gone by.,br/> We’re not trying to reproduce old merchandise. We’re creating something new that feels like it could have a story behind it.
Yes, coming soon!
Due to popular demand, our designs are also being made available in Back-Print versions, giving you the same artwork with a cleaner front and the main graphic taking centre stage across the back.
Same retro soul. Different way to wear it.

Looking After Your Tee

A little care goes a long way.
Turn your tee inside out, wash it cool with similar colours and use a gentle detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softener where possible.
It protects both the fabric and the print.
Air drying is the best option if you want to keep your tee looking good for as long as possible.
If you do use a tumble dryer, keep the temperature low.
Heat and graphic prints have never been particularly good friends.
Avoid ironing directly over the printed design.
Turn the shirt inside out or place a cloth between the iron and the print.
Don’t over-wash them, avoid excessive heat and rotate your favourites rather than wearing the same one into oblivion.
We’ve also put together a full guide on the Retro Social blog covering how to keep graphic tees looking fresh.
After all, good times never fade — and preferably neither should your T-shirt.

Sizing & Fit

Our tees are designed for an easy, comfortable everyday fit. You’ll find sizing information on the relevant product page, and we recommend checking the measurements before ordering rather than relying solely on the size you usually buy elsewhere.
Different garment styles can fit slightly differently.
If you prefer a closer fit, go for the smaller size.
If you like your tees a little more relaxed — or you’re going for that laid-back oversized look — size up.
Available sizes depend on the garment and colour, with the full range shown on each product page.
We try to offer as broad a size range as our garments allow.
Absolutely. Available colours vary from design to design, and you’ll see all the current options on the product page.
We spend quite a bit of time matching designs to shirt colours too, some graphics simply look better on particular shades.

Delivery

Some Retro Social products are produced after you place your order, so there may be a short production period before dispatch.
Estimated delivery times are shown during checkout where possible.
You can find more detailed information in our Shipping Policy.
Where tracking is available, we’ll send you the details once your order has been dispatched.
It may take a little while after receiving the email for the carrier’s tracking system to update.
Where international delivery is available, the options and charges will be shown at checkout.
International customers should be aware that customs charges, taxes or import fees may apply depending on the destination country.
If your estimated delivery date has passed by a reasonable amount of time, send us your order number and we’ll investigate.
Sometimes carriers just need a little encouragement.

Returns & Problems

For standard Retro Social products, you can return eligible items in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy.
Returned garments should be unworn, unwashed and in suitable condition for return.
First of all, that’s not how we want your Retro Social experience to begin.
Send us your order number along with a couple of clear photographs showing the problem and we’ll investigate it for you. Where appropriate, we’ll arrange a replacement, refund or other suitable solution.
Get in touch with us and include your order number and a photograph of what arrived.
We’ll get it sorted.
Absolutely. Available colours vary from design to design, and you’ll see all the current options on the product page.
